This is good to learn new language. The more languages you know the better for you. As in India, you always have the advantage of knowing at least two languages. But, if you want job outside of india, it is great to know another language. Plus, you might be surprised what doors can open when you add that language to your resume.

 

2. Learn a new skill

It is never too late to learn a new skill. Online courses are extremely common and it is very easy to find an online course you really like. how to cook, how to know about new technologies, according to your need that you can search online, online courses cover everything. When you have free time, it is always a good idea to use that time wisely. And learning a new skill can help you down the line.

3. Network with industry professionals

Networking events happen regularly at big companies. You can also attend your school or college’s networking events since they often invite alumni students. Networking is one of those silent things that have incredible benefits. You never know if the person you are talking to could pass your resume to the right people or schedule a job interview you have been waiting for. It might seem a little weird to go around a roomful of people talking about your skills, but it is worth it in the end. You can link industry professionals on LinkedIn also.

4. Call your contacts

Every student has done at least one internship during college. For those who are a little more adventurous, two or three internships are not out of the ordinary. It is smart to build a network of people in the company where you did your internship. This can help you in the future and is one of the first exercises you will ever do in networking. Call them, e-mail your resume or Whatsapp , ask if they know of any job openings, and even better, connect with them on LinkedIn or any other social network, to see if they can put in a good word for you with another professional.

 

5. Get your references in order

Now days, companies still require references. If you have worked summer jobs or have previous internships, now is a good time to make sure your references are in order. Give your references a call or Whatsapp, inform him that they are on your reference list. Make sure they know that they might get a call from a potential employer inquiring about your work.

This gap period when you are looking for jobs is you should not spend sleeping, playing games or wasting. Hone your skills, network, catch up with friends, and pass around your resume like it is nobody’s business and you will definitely land that dream job.
